The game follows the story of Cole MacGrath, a bike courier turned superhuman after an explosion that leveled several city blocks and killed thousands of lives. Now living in a world of crime and violence, Cole takes up measures in order to survive while utilizing his new-found powers, while also trying to learn more about how and why he got them. Cole is given powers akin to electricity. He can utilize them for use in combat, such as blasting a Lightning Bolt or throwing Shock Grenades at a designated area or target. Other specific powers are used for improved navigation, such as hovering over short distances or riding electrical wires, using Static Thrusters and Induction Grind respectively. Certain powers designated for defense can also be used, such as the Polarity Wall. These powers are obtained through the progression of the story as the player restores power to each portion of the city’s districts.
