Your progress doesn’t matter from one battle to the next, and with only a handful of maps the game was a breeze to beat. Overall, I just had more fun with Warefare 1917 due to the depth it offered. In Warefare 1917 you can unlock artillery units that give you options during battles, in this game you just wait until enough time passes that you can arbitrarily unlock a new unit and then finally make progress. My longest match was a 20 minute stalemate with the AI where I did nothing until I passively gained enough XP to unlock artillery and then promptly steamrolled

them with the 5,000 gold my waiting had paid me. And if you’re more a fan of trying to blitz the enemy, you’re going to have a bad time. One of the only new mechanics in this game is the ability to add gunner nests behind trenches. It’s a cool mechanic, except that since you don’t have utility options until quite a bit of time passes, it makes the first ten minutes boring as hell. You have an overwhelming number of troops vs three guys in a trench with a nest? Doesn’t matter, you’re gonna lose. Put a handful of guys in a trench, upgrade the nest, go make a snack, then comeback and win! Fun right?
